Amish Puffs

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup sugar
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cream or tartar, and salt into a bowl and set aside.

2. In a stand mixer, cream butters and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg and mix until combined.

3. Add the flour mixture, and mix on low speed just until combined.

4. Cover dough and refrigerate for 30mins.

5. For the cinnamon sugar: Combine sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.

6. Preheat the oven to 375.

7. Roll tablespoon-sized balls of dough in the cinnamon sugar and place on cookie sheets about 3 inches apart.

8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through, until golden brown.

Enjoy warm with tea, coffee or any warm drink!

These are very alike to snickerdoodles but are less sweet, hence eating with a drink!

Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
