Snowshoeing

Hello! I was sitting at the computer trying to remember what I was going to post today but I couldn't remember. So I started looking through all of my photos and found all my snowshoeing pictures from Friday! Yay for snowshoeing by candlelight...

Very beginning of the trail, about 5:50

Candle, 6:05

Tiki torches for the cross country skiing path, 6:15

I have finally jumped on the moon textures train! Loving it although I think this photo is too halloweeny? 6:30
Texture Credit to Anna Lenabem.

Silhouettes,  6:38

Snowshoes, 6:41

Creepy Little Building, 6:50

The times by each picture were so you could see about how long it took me to finish a 3 mile trail. But the times are not all going to be right, because they are mostly guesses!

It was a really fun night, we started out by driving the hour or so drive listening to Christina Aguilera.
Then went snowshoeing for about 2 hours.
Then we went to Olive Garden (so good!) basically for free because I had a gift card from coaching soccer.
Then we went grocery shopping and went home.

I make it seem like a really short night but it wasn't and was really fun!

Lots of Macros..

On Tuesday it got up to 60's degrees and all of the snow went bye-bye.
So yesterday it snowed again, we got almost a whole foot of it and I am so sore from all of the shoveling...
Here are some macros from outside today..
First 3 photos textured with Kim Klassen's 2701 and Nested.

Birthday Cake

Hello ladies (and possibly gentlemen)! A Couple days ago it was my little sisters birthday and I made her a cake with some fancy(ish) frosting and I didn't really like how it turned out, same goes for the pictures I took! For the first one, I don't think I really like it but at the same time I kind of like the blurred effect?
Please let me know what you think my feelings won't be hurt if you don't like it.

Here is a shot of it from above.

So what do you think?

Sun Flares and Bokeh

Hello hello! Around 4:45 when I was doing the dishes I looked out the window and saw a gorgeous sunset.
So of course I ran outside in my slippers without a coat and froze my butt off to get some pictures. Lets take a look...

So I think out of all the pictures I took this is my favorite because of the bokeh and sun flare. But The propane tank and house really draw the eye away from it. I wish I had the skill in photoshop or any other editing system to get rid of them but I don't :(

This was taken right around the same time and is another one of my favorites.

This one was taken maybe 10mins later when the sun had gotten lower. It made for some great silhouettes!

Me

Hola people, I think the blog post title pretty much says it all. You don't know a ton about me so I am going to make sure you leave here knowing a lot more about me.

Things you do know:
 I have really curly hair.

I have chickens who rock. Especially this one.
And I love love love photography.

And thats pretty much where your knowledge of me ends.
So here are lots a few things you probably don't know.

Things you don't know:
I really like fashion, and this is more or less what I look like like when I'm going to go somewhere.

I am really sarcastic.
I am extremely goofy.
I love doing hair and makeup.
I want to travel a lot.
I play a ton of soccer, seriously almost every single day.
There are a ton of things I would love to do. But haven't had the time to do.
There are a ton of things I want to be.
I am doing Project Life. You can learn all about it here.
I do singing for fun and some little competitions.
Orange is my favorite color.
I have dyed my hair lots of times, starting when I was 10 (my parents wanted to let me experiment). Mostly different reds. But my worst story yet is when it was so supposed to be bright red it turned out hot pink and was that way for 3 months.

I love lots of things:

Whew, it took a surprisingly long time to write all of that. When I started this I totally thought I knew what I was going to say then my mind came off blank.

So I really want to know what you all want to see here on my blog.
Give my ideas. Inspire me. Please! I need it.

Mysterious Footprints...

Hello hello! I have a little something for you guys today, let me know if you guys believed it or not!

You won't believe what I saw... Some mysterious footprints at the beautiful sunny and warm beach!

They went on and on... Like a really long.

Then I realized that I saw daydreaming, and it was not a beautiful sunny and warm beach. It was a beautiful sunny and freezing snow beach aka the road. And I was taking pictures of my footprints...

More tree ornaments!

Hola! I am really realizing how bad I want snow, tons of it. Everything is gray and brown and I'm really not enjoying it. So I want a bunch of pretty sparkling white snow, soon.

Here are a few more pics from a couple days ago...

I had fun playing around with some snow effects on picmonkey.

Cute right?

Are you like me, and want snow?

Linking up with some lovely places today...

Migas

Hello hello!
Today I am sharing a recipe that I made on Sunday, it is called Migas.
It is basically a flavorful scrambled egg dish made fabulous with the addition of veggies, corn tortillas and lots of cheese. The ingredients list is enough for 6 servings but I adjusted it so it would be just enough for two people.

Ingredients:
1 medium onion
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
4 tomatoes
1 or 2 jalapenos
10 to 12 large eggs
1/4 cup half and half
Salt and pepper to taste
4 corn tortillas
Canola oil for frying
1 TBS olive oil
1 TBS butter
2 cups grated cheese
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1/4 cup sour cream

Begin by roughly chopping the onion, bell peppers, and tomatoes.

I would have chopped the tomatoes but we only had frozen ones so they were already in chunks.

Then some eggs and just a splash of half and half. Whisk lightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

In a small skillet, fry the corn tortillas in canola oil until just barely crisp. Don't overbrown.

Drain the fried tortillas on a paper towel, then place on a cutting board. With a sharp knife, cut the tortillas into strips, then turn them the other way so they are in squares. Set aside.

In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the onion and bell peppers in the olive oil until they develop a little color. You want the veggies to have some brown and black areas, but not be soggy of soft.
And I forgot to take the next picture, but you will want to put the tomatoes in and cook for 1 minute.

Then throw in the tortilla chips. Stir the mixture and reduce heat to low.

When the skillet has cooled slightly, pour in the egg mixture.
mix little by little, making sure it doesn't stick to the bottom.
When the eggs are cooked throw in the cheese and plenty of chopped cilantro (I forgot the cilantro...).

Now this picture really doesn't do much justice, it was SO much better then it looked. Next time I will have to put more thought into it.

Now I did actually right down my parents and little sisters reactions so here they are:

Mom - Mmm, very tasty. I like the veggies, but needs more green.

Dad - Tortilla needs to be added later. Its wonderful, though.

Lil' Sis - Mmm! Its SO GOOD! I love it!!!

The original recipe is from The Pioneer Woman, also known as Ree Drummond. My mom got me her cookbook from the library and I made this right away. You can see her whole website here.

Hope you enjoyed this! And I would love for you to let me know if you try this recipe.

Daffodil

Daffodils are so pretty! While at a soccer tournament last weekend we went on a walk to a local library and found all kind of things to take pictures of. I was pleasantly surprised to see this, I didn't think that I would see many flowers this time of year, especially then. It was mid 40's all weekend!

What is your favorite kind of flower?
