Friday Finds

First of all as the leaves start changing and the weather gets chilly and Autumn is in full swing I imagine I will be getting a lot more inspiration and take more photos which means that I will be posting more often :) Lately every time I have sat down to write a post I have really enjoyed just writing (and I think it is awesome to see how fast I can type) so maybe some posts of me typing nonsense?

And I could just post a ton of pictures of autumn that I found on Pinterest but that be a little silly... Instead you should just go to my Pinterest page so you can ooh and ahh over all the pretty colors.

This rooster. Absolutely perfect and gorgeous. I would bet that he is probably about 9 pounds which is...really big.

I will have you all know that it is an absolute dream for me to live in a very old house like this surrounded by all these gorgeous colorful trees in the middle of nowhere. Just imagine how perfect that would be.

This is also an absolute adorable room, of course whenever I got out of bed I will most likely headbutt the slanted ceiling but that is so not the point. I imagine this room in the very top of my old Victorian house.

Sigh...why is Pinterest so amazing? When someone asks me if they should make an account I say yes because it is so amazing but I think you literally have to set a timer for yourself so you don't end up spending your whole day on there.

My Chickens

These pictures aren't anything special but I wanted you all to see how much my babies have grown and how they are all totally awesome. You can see them here as tiny little babies and here as awkward teenagers.

34 chickens. 3 of them range from 3-6 years old and the rest are all my amazing batch of babes that hatched (on two different farms)in April. If I do say so myself, this batch of chicks is the best batch of chicks that I have ever had. And the biggest variety. Ameraucana, Buff Orpington, Rhode Island Red, breeds that I have no idea what they are ect.

I mean just look at them! This picture only has 21 of them in it but it gives you the general idea of the range of colors I have.

The buffs have such fluffy butts. And no, that isn't weird.

 In the post where they were all awkward teenagers I said this guy (Petey) would probably never grow out of his awkward stage and would always be weird looking but look at him, he is smokin'.

I am so glad that they are finally almost full grown! I prefer full grown chickens rather then little chicks so this is the best time.

Early Morning Fog

Hello! I have enough pictures for a few posts so I would expect a post every other day, I'm not going to push it and say everyday because that isn't going to happen...

Some chicory flowers. I have yet to actually get pictures of them open maybe later today. I love the detail in this shot.

Queen anne's lace...I know a lot of people really don't like this 'weed' but I love it. I always pick a ton of them, put them in a vase and then they go into my room. Love them!

Isn't this a mysterious picture? The fog was so thick it was unbelievable. I have more pictures on the camera that wouldn't upload (grr) but those will be in another post...

I am glad that I am finally easing back into blogging. Stay tuned for more :)

Fair 2013 Recap

Let me start off by saying that I have really really missed blogging! I have had the time to sit down and write a post everyday but never did and while I wish I had written a few I'm okay with the fact that I took a really long break. And I am back and hopefully I will go out, take a ton of pictures and have lots to share (:

There is so much that I want to do...I really want to finish fixing up the kitchen, the bathroom has been half done for a year and I really want to those two things, I especially can't wait to pick out the paint colors :P But I also really want to clean everything up outside, one of these days! I totally believe that a lot of people have time to do the things that they want but instead they go 'Oh I don't have the time for that!' when really all they have to do is go outside (or wherever) and do it! Which is what I should be doing.

I want Autumn to be here. Which is the first time ever, usually I just want Summer to last forever but no, this this I just want all of the pretty colors here. And while searching Autumn on Pinterest makes me go all starry-eyed then I get sad 'cause it's only on my computer screen, not outside.

Now that I have written this much I realize how good it feels to just be typing and being the only person awake in a (mostly) quiet house. It should be like this every day Saturday!

I'm baaaack! For today at least.

For the last couple of weeks I have been thinking 'I will totally do a blog post today, or tomorrow.' and I NEVER got around to it! So here we are and it has been almost a month since I have posted. That is a really long time. Part of it was that our main computer broke and I hated typing out posts on our tiny laptops but another part. I left last Sunday for ODP (Olympic Developmental Program) in Illinois and didn't get back home until Wednesday then I had some down time for a day and a half and left Friday night for a soccer tournament and got back last night (Sunday). And now... *drum roll* we get to go on a vacation to Colorado! We haven't been on a vacation in 5 years (when we went to Colorado) and so its a pretty big deal for us.

We will be going to this huge amusement park, my uncles cabin, having a huge birthday bash... I can't wait :)

When I haven't had soccer I have done other summery stuff: fireworks, swimming, boating ect. tons of fun!

I was SO glad that I got at least one awesome fireworks shot this year, unlike last year. Mind you, this was pretty much the only good one I got because I forgot to actually read about what settings I should put my sisters camera on.

And speaking of cameras... While I was at ODP camp my mom found my camera that has been missing since early May! Perfect timing as now I can actually take some good pictures in Colorado.

I obviously probably won't do any posts while I'm on vacation but I may sneak one in. When I get back I can't wait to share pictures with you all.

So for the meantime, I will 'see' you all soon!!

Golden Summer

Summer weather around here is perfect even though it gets too hot which would in fact be the perfect weather for swimming but we only have a baby pool so its not too refreshing. And for our local pool its now $5 to get in and I really don't want to pay that much to go to the pool to go swimming for only 2hrs or less. But anyway time for summer golden hour sun flares!

We were leaving a soccer game and my sister handed me her camera and ran off to do who knows what and I wa-la, the golden hour happened! I took some pictures and got this one, with fairy dust magically coming from the sun.

And this one with a sun flare and some bokeh. I love it when that happens :)

I am hoping to participate in Scavenger Hunt Sunday tomorrow night but since I will be at a soccer tournament all day that I may or may not be playing in we will see what happens :)

SHS 6.15.13.

Hola! Yes I must be on a roll again 'cause this is my second post in 3 days. And I am overly excited to do SHS again this week after barely doing the past 5 weeks or so. It is one again in fact all cellphone pics but I still can't find my long lost camera so that is what I get to use. Actually my big sister is very generous and lets me use her DSLR a lot (that means when I sneak out the back porch and dart into the backyard to take pictures). So here we go!

Today (Saturday) was summer solstice in our little town and since I haven't been able to go for the past two years due to soccer tournaments I was SUPER excited. But I was you had been there Gigi! How could you leave me for a whole weekend to go to a regional worldwide soccer camp in Illinois? I will never forgive you. Unless you let me use your camera. Anyway I just went toally off topic. This is the huge lake in our little town that is so dark you can't see the bottom. Which is creepy.

Laughing is happening about 97% of the time around here. My lil sis I think has enjoyed my company this weekend without the big sis. So here is her fake laughing. Basically I told her to laugh and don't move so I could actually get a picture that was somewhat unblurry. Same for this next photo.

The lil sis loves posing for the tons of pictures I always want to take. I think. You was apparently dancing like someone with broken bones who was collapsing? Or something like that. Then she kept freaking out that people would see her and laugh.

Balloons totally scream summer? Right? No? Maybe?

Summer

Bed races are one of the best parts of the solstice. You have a team made out of 3 people and two people make the bed while one puts on a nightgown then the nightgown person jumps on the bed and they push her down the street where she has to eat a cookie and drink a cup of milk then you rush them back and its quite fun. Especially when the two people are going so fast they can't control the bed and almost smush people (that would be a awesome horrible mess!)
