1) If you follow my blog you have probably noticed that I have already shared this picture on my blog a number of times. But here it is again! I was happy to see one of the prompts was yellow because to me that means colorful yellow Autumn trees ;)

2) This is a lame last minute thing. I thought I had something but I didn't so i was getting ready to take a shower! The lighting was so bad inside I had to take all of my shower stuff outside to take a picture (I used the car as a background :P).

3) This is the adorable baby Scarlet that I babysat for a couple days this week, ins't she just adorable?!
When she is eating she is always smiling and very bright. More photos of her later this week!

4) You can't really tell in this picture, but the corn on this was very tiny!

5) My dad and Triscuits have a very deep connection, one of his favorite foods along with Ibuprofen and pizza.

5 Fact Friday

Hello everybody again! This is my 2nd week participating in 5 Fact Friday.

Here we go ;)

1. I am babysitting the adorable baby Scarlet today. She is 15 months old, coolest baby ever!

2. My sister and I are going to Finland! We are going to go early summer 2014. It seems really far away though... Anyway, our Aunt moved there a few years ago and we never get to see her, so I think that calls for a trip! A fun, 24hr long plane ride, possibly a cruise, yeah that will be fun. Actually the cruise might be fun.

3. My mom and I are going to buy some Maple trees! We don't have any trees that really change color in the fall so its kind of awesome.

4. I am being Effie Trinket for halloween! For those who aren't familiar with The Hunger Games, you might just know her as the pink lady. If you google her you will easily find some good pictures ;)

5. There are so many things I want to do with my blog. 
Or things I would love to happen to it. This blog hasn't even been around for 3 weeks yet and I already have almost 20 followers! You may have followed my other blog Chickens on the Moon but I recently made the decision to make it only farmy stuff. And this blog for everything else ;)
Chickens on the Moon had just recently gotten to 70+ followers so the decision was hard but I'm glad I did what I did.

Fun Fall Hairclips

 These are totally awesome and totally cute! I found this idea last week and I just made some earlier today!

The supplies you will need are...

• Fake leaves, in fall colors
• Hair clips, any size you want
• Scissors 
• Hot glue gun (make sure you have enough glue!)
• Felt, any color
• Any little gem stones or decorations you want to decorate with.

So here we go!

Cut two (2) pieces of felt, one larger then your clip and one about a quarter size of the bigger piece.

 Open hair clip and cover with glue and press the bigger piece of felt onto the clip. 

 Cover other end of clip with glue and place the small piece of felt on top.

Cover the top of the clip with glue and put your leaves and gems on.

This is how the finished product should look from the bottom.

These are the few I made. I would like to decorate them more but I couldn't find the gems!

Rural Thursday

Hello everyone!

The woods are so lovely right now, unfortunately none of the trees are kinds that change colors!

In the next month or so we are going to get some Maple's and Oak's that we can plant cause I want some trees that change color!

What are your favorite kind of trees?

I went on a nature walk last week and it was so pretty!

I took over 200 pictures and this is one of my favorites.

I used partings and sun-kissed both at full opacity.

So far I have really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful fall colors, there is still mostly green but there hints of red, pink, orange, and yellow.

Macro Monday

I am really enjoying seeing all the colorful leaves all over the place!

Since we are looking to get some new trees soon I took some leaves home so I could look them up.

I really want to get some Silver Maple's.

Silver Maple

SHS 9.22.12.

1) This little brick building is  very cracked and falling apart.

 2) So many leaves are falling off trees! They make for some good macro shots.

3) The other day I went on a nature walk and with my neutral colors I fit right in!

4) On photobucket they have a bunch of cool Bokeh overlays. So of course I had to play around with them a little bit!

5) When I think fence, I automatically think of barbed wire. So that's what I'm going with!

Here we go..


1. I am currently eating a chocolate chip cookie. Now all I need is a little bit of peanut butter..

2. Yesterday I went on a nature walk and it was lovely.

3. Yesterday I cut and froze 30+ bell peppers, and my mom still wants to buy more! And there were some funny little peppers growing inside the bigger peppers.

4. I went outside and cleaned the barn quite a bit, I'm very excited with the finished product.

5. The peppers are coming to an end :(

Rural Thursday

In the whole time that I have been into photography (only since early this year) I only ever took a couple pictures of this little brick building. So the other day I went outside and took some closeups.

We have never used it for anything but I still think its cute.

These are the pictures that I took earlier this year.  I took them only 2 or 3 days after I started taking pictures. I personally think I have come a long way in the photography world.

Edit Me Challenge

I have missed the edit me challenge all summer but it is finally back!

This week the judge is Sarah.

Here is the original photo.

I wanted to make it black and white soo...

I went for the full on dramatic black and white.

What I did:

1. Cloned out the From Sarah's Camera (sorry!).
2. Black and White.
3. Daguerreotype in Brady at 14% fade.
4. Added text.
5. Mascara for extra clarity.

So what do you think? Too dramatic?
